*Welcome to our very first newsletter! This is where you will find
Yellow Dog Cafe's up to date information on special events, featured
entrees, dessert specials unique seasonal cocktails and recipes from our
cookbook. Also, we will share short stories on the history of Yellow Dog
Cafe as told by the staff that makes it the unique meeting place it has
become for our guests who like our "Comfort Food With a Flair."*
------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Our Story*
Stuart and Nancy Borton had lots of big ideas and even bigger dreams.
The year was 1997 and the Bortons spotted an old run down building high
on a cliff on South US Highway 1 in Malabar overlooking the beautiful
Indian River Lagoon. Purchased mostly on borrowed money and their credit
cards, the dreams became a reality when they opened their remodeled
restaurant 6 months later under a full moon on a rainy Friday night on
February 13th, 1998. The weather was not ideal but that was the day the
ram shackled building became the Yellow Dog Cafe. Here we are 20 years
later still sharing special memories with our guests both old and new.
We always enjoy witnessing when a new guest enters our restaurant and is
surprised by the creative menu, house-made desserts, extensive wine
list, covered patio on the water and eclectic decor. We look forward to
sharing many more memories with you in the future.
