June 7th - Logan and I will play at a benefit for Jeff Bryant
(see letter below)
June 13th and 27th - I'll be at the Lagoon Lounge in the Comfort Inn on
Cocoa Bch. 9-1

Hey Y'all,
Hope everyone is doing good. We've got some news for you about a very
special event Logan and I are participating in, on Saturday, June 7th over
in Kissimmee. I know Kissimmee is a long way to go for a music festival, but
not only does the music promise to be great, but the circumstances are very
near and dear to our hearts.
This music Festival is a benefit for my brother-in-law Jeff Bryant. He has
brain cancer and has had two operations, radiation treatments, and is
currently doing chemo at Shands hospital. The medical bills are already well
over $100,000.00 and Jeff has no insurance. The good people of my home town
Kenansville, FL have stepped up as usual and helped out in so many ways.
Their latest brain storm is this:

A Music Festival / Fund Raiser for Jeff Bryant, Saturday, June 7th at the
Kissimmee Valley Livestock Bldg.By the baseball stadium at the Silver Spurs
Rodeo Grounds on 192 at Bill Beck Blvd. in Kissimmee
Doors open @ 3 pm music will be 4pm til ?
I don't have an official schedule, but these are the bands on the roster so
far:
* Diana Bryant (My sister) with her friends, Jackie Stevens, Charlie Disney
and Lanny Rice *Bent Straight with Charlie and Lorretta Hill *Just Add Water
with Nashville Recording Artist, Jamie Brothers, (my little brother) *Alibi,
a country band from Kissimmee *One Voice,a local gospel group and........ *
Janet and Logan Reedy (Whoever they are HAHA) Many of you know my family is
a very musical one, most of us play professionally with several different
bands, and we all traveled as a Gospel Group when I was young. I'm very
proud of them all and it's been rumored that the long lost Brothers Family
Gospel Group will even make an appearance. This should be fun!

There will be a raffle with many prizes including 2 horses and 2 sides of
beef A silent auction including artwork by me, Janet Reedy And at 8pm an
auction including a Fender guitar autographed by Willie Nelson...WOW!...
There will be lots of food concessions and admission is $10 adults, $5 for
children I hope you can be with us, come join the fun. Jeff and Diana and
my whole family thank you in advance for your prayers and support. And as
always my prayers are with you all. God Bless y'all, Love, Jan

3) TERRY KELLY:

Hey gang,
I should be (hopefully) at the Sun Shoppe again this Sat. night 6/7 from
9-midnight. But, (more importantly) . .

Very . . very sorry to keep missing all these Sunday jams and tributes to
Larry Smith, but Sundays have been my travel day (still working up in
Virginia during the week). Please allow me to say something about Larry at
this time . . and I greatly apologize for my absence over these past few
weeks.

One Kool Day with One of the Best!
Me and Larry Smith jammed outside in front of Kool Beanz for about three
hours one afternoon, a few years ago, as many . . many (hundreds . . sober
and not very) people were walking back and forth to attend the Mardi Gras in
Cocoa Village. I'm not big on jamming . . frankly . . I'm just not real good
at it. But, that day we played 30 or 40 songs . . mostly blues, folk, and
rock stuff. Larry was pickin' and smilin' all day long (as usual) and all
the people who were walking by would stop and listen for a song or two and
their kids were dancin' around and everybody was smilin' and yes . . we
drank a few "root beers" and smoked a few of Larry's smokes (nothing illegal
. . as far as I know?)
Best of all . . we probably played for about three or four hundred people
that day. Even Java John, Jen, and Decalf Dylan were impressed with our
non-stop performance! We played on into the night (right up to the
fireworks) and the music sounded better and better with each passing bottle
of "root beer!"
That was the most fun I've ever had playing music (with my clothes on). I
finally got the hang of playing some blues harmonica and (more importantly)
. . I learned something I had long suspected . . Larry Smith was a great
musician and (more importantly) . . about the nicest and best person I've
ever known and ever will know. It would be really nice to see some kind of
annual music event with Larry's name attached to it!

PS, Thanks Larry . . God Bless and Keep You . .

Grant Livingston has been a mainstay of the Florida music scene since the
mid-eighties. With an acoustic guitar and an incisive wit that lends an
edge to his kid-friendly material, Livingston a regular at venues
throughout the state. With a musical style mixing country and ragtime
shuffle, Livingston is ringmaster of a carnival of song characters.
Einstein and Gypsy Rose on a road trip, a guy who is way serious about
eating pie, a French-speaking cat in a graveyard, armadillos, barnacles, an

unleashed dog all make their appearance in his songs.
Grant has three recordings of original songs. The Nashville-recorded
swing-influenced "Let Me Off the Leash" (2001), solo recording "The One that

Got Away" (1996), and the recently released collection of Florida stories
"Florida Rain" (1988, re-released with additional material in 2003).
Livingston was named Best Acoustic Performer for 2003 in the Best of
Miami Awards published by the Miami New Times. Here's what they, and
others, have to say about him:

"... like an unstoned Buffett or maybe Leon Redbone by way of Sesame
Street" ... "Livingston surprises listeners with his biting wit and
cerebral lyric" - Miami New Times

"Livingston mixes ragtime, blues, and swing with unusual topics, combining

observational humor with the scratchy Victrola style of the Squirrel Nut
Zippers" - Creative Loafing, Atlanta

"Grant Livingston embodies the very spirit that created Florida." -
Florida Living Magazine

"Magical - his words really lighten the soul" - Miami Herald
 ". . .
insighful songwriting" - Dirty Linen Magazine
